A new American Flag installed—first, some background.
Northville Brookdale Assisted Living houses some Veterans that served during WWII and the Korean conflict. These Veterans formed a Veterans Club at Brookdale, and 1st District members and Auxiliary meet with their club each month. On Flag Day last year, our team participated in a ceremony at Brookdale with the Post 32 Honor Guard and the Westland Navy Sea Cadets. Regrettably, due to Covid19 restrictions, we could not do that ceremony this year. However, we did notice a torn American Flag at Brookdale which needed replacement. So, the American Legion 1st District installed a new American Flag on Flag Day.

We're back everyone!!!On Wednesday June 10th we will open at 12 PM. We now have new hours of operation for the foreseeable future. They will most likely return to normal after all this pandemic junk is all over. It has been a long time coming to this point and our Post has survived. We will have new rules in place your temperature will be taken when you enter and must be below 100.3 degrees. Please ware a mask when you come into the building and when seated you may remove it. All our rules I'm sure will be mandated by the State of Michigan and enforced. We all look forward to getting back to normal when ever that might take place (soon I hope). There will also be sanitation stations through out the Post please feel free to use them. We would also like you to clean up after yourself when leaving wipe down your seat and arm rest. This will help our staff in keeping our Post as safe and clean as possible.
I would also assume all meetings will be starting at there regular date's and times. Our menu on the grill will look different also streamlined for safer and faster service to all. Hours on the grill will also be changed and longer. We are still looking for an extra short order cook if anyone knows someone please let our Club Manager know or an Executive Board member who can then pass it along.
We are all flying by the seat of our pants on this reopening with not much information from the State of Michigan other than go ahead and open. Rules may change at any time if directed by the State of Michigan. If this takes place you all will know as soon as we do. I share your concerns about the pandemic and your Board is taken all precautions very seriously. And remember to come into the Post you must have an updated membership card dated 2020 please renew if you need to someone will be at the Post to help with this.
As always I look forward to seeing many of you soon take care until then. God bless our troops, first responders and hospital workers that have gotten us through this mess, and most of all God Bless America. Thank you very much for your understanding.
