Legionnaires, Post Commanders and Post Adjutants,This evening on a ZOOM Conference meeting the Department Executive Committee canceled the 2020 Fall Conference scheduled to be held in Flint, in September.Please let Legionnaires know that if they have made hotel reservations, it is up to them to cancel their hotel reservations.The convention corporation will refund any member who sent in their conference registration fee in the coming weeks.The DEC will hold a meeting via ZOOM, to be announced.

Wilwin Lodge 2020 Open House & Fundraiser
Legion Family Members, Active duty, Reserve, and National Guard members and families,Join the Michigan American Legion Wilwin Lodge at Cygnet Cove, located at 3383 E. Hawley Rd., in Custer, on September 12, starting at 1 pm for the annual fundraising, and open house event. There will be food, music, 50-50 raffle, and an auction to help raise money.This annual event is open to all members of The American Legion family, and non-members who would like to learn more about the facility, and what it has to offer. Healthcare and mental health professionals use the facility for small group sessions and a distraction-free environment.Wilwin Lodge is a subsidiary of The American Legion Department of Michigan and provides a quiet relaxing, rustic setting for veterans, active duty, reserve, and National Guard members, and their families may visit to relax and reconnect with loved ones, at little or no charge.The property sits on 1,200 acres of property, west of Ludington. with a 60-acre lake for fishing, swimming, and small boating. The property is lined with trails for walking, hiking, and biking, as well as, open areas for scouting, and small groups to camp.This annual event helps raise funds for the day to day operation of the property, and help families, who may need financial assistance to travel and stay on the property.
