The Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Opportunity (LEO) has allocated at least $3,000,000 in federal CARES Act funds to assist qualified small businesses to expand capacity during the cold weather months. Eligible businesses may apply to receive between $1,000 – $10,000 in funding. Eligible municipalities or local organizations may apply to receive up to $15,000. Many businesses have been impacted by extended closures and capacity limitations, and these grant funds are intended to be used to help expand capacity and increase sales opportunities.
The application process will open on November 18, 2020 at Noon. Businesses will be asked to submit an application on www.MiWinterGrants.com. Grants will be awarded to eligible businesses on a first-come, first-served basis, with special consideration given to fulfill a minimum of 10 requests in each of Michigan's prosperity regions.
Please note again that this grant will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis; to assist you in the process, see the attached eligibility and application requirements. I recommend having your information together prior to the Noon start time on November 18th. If you have received financial assistance from any other relief grants, loans, etc., you are still eligible for this grant. If you have any questions, give us a shout, and if you qualify…GO FOR IT!
