The American Legion to Distribute Food Boxes to Veterans, Seniors, And Families In Need On FRIDAY, January 15, 2021

The American Legion Department of Michigan Veteran Affairs & Rehabilitation Committee and The Otto Miller Jr. American Legion Post 396, partnered with Gleaners Community Food Bank, will be distributing food boxes to Veterans, seniors, or families in need.

Legionnaires, Veterans, and community volunteers will distribute 500 food boxes at 6860 Middlebelt Rd., Garden City starting at 1 p.m.  

The American Legion Department of Michigan has helped distribute over 500,000 pounds of food to needed families in Michigan.  They have held other events in Mt. Clemens, Wyandotte, Garden City, Detroit, and several other locations, including eight in the Upper Peninsula.

The events are contactless distribution; drivers stay in their vehicle while volunteers load a 40-pound food box into the car's trunk or rear.
